LGBTQ and Faith: Support and Community Organizations
Believe Out Loud: Believe Out Loud is an online network that empowers Christians to work for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. They also provide a search engine to locate open and affirming Churches in the USA.
Brave Commons: Brave Commons seeks to elevate the voices of LGBTQ+ students working within and beyond Christian universities in the United States.
Canyonwalker Connections: Repairing the division existing between social and Christian conservatives and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities through education, training, encouragement, and dialogue in both secular and religious environments.
Church Clarity: Church Clarity is a crowd-sourced database of local congregations that we score based on how clearly they communicate their actively enforced policies. Our mission is to increase the standard of clarity throughout the Church Industry.
The Christian Closet: The Christian Closet is an online therapeutic resource for people who are trying to work out what it means to have a LGBTQ sexual identity within a Christian context.
Deaf Rainbow of Faith: Deaf Rainbow of Faith is an online group that provides resources for Deaf LGBTQ people as well as their families, friends, and churches to help them acknowledge that the LGBTQ community are fully accepted and loved by God.
Everybody Church: Love God. Love each other. Love yourself. Everybody Church started as a conversation between two pastors, some Mama Bears, a therapist, and an atheist. The community is growing quickly around the world.
Generous Space Ministries: Generous Space (formerly New Direction) is a Canadian-based ministry whose mission is to disciple Christ-followers to work together to eliminate fear, division, and hostility at the intersection of faith, gender, and sexuality.
Inside Out Faith: Inside Out Faith is an organization that seeks to actively engage faith communities in order to educate, affirm and foster support of LGBT persons and their allies.
Intersex and Faith: Intersex and Faith is an organization working together to support, advocate with, and educate others about intersex people and help faith communities welcome those born outside the male/female binary.
Mama Bears to the Rescue: Sponsored by the Mama Bears organization, Mama Bears to the Rescue does small acts of kindness for LGBTQ+ people who need support and encouragement such as attend a wedding as an affirming stand-in mom, visit someone in the hospital, include someone in their holiday gatherings, provide temporary housing, send a note of encouragement, and offer phone conversations.
Our Bible App: This is a faith-based Bible app that is “uplifting believers of all stripes.”
Q Christian Fellowship: Q Christian Fellowship (formerly Gay Christian Network) cultivates radical belonging among LGBTQ+ people and allies through a commitment to growth, community, and relational justice. They are a diverse community with varied backgrounds, cultures, theologies, and denominations, drawn together through their love of Christ and belief that every person is a beloved child of God.
Queer Grace: Queer Grace is a curated encyclopedia of information and ideas around the life of LGBTQIA+ people and Christian faith. We hope to offer a safe space full of resources for all those navigating their journey in the church.
Religious Exemption Accountability Project: The Religious Exemption Accountability Project (REAP) empowers queer, trans and non-binary students at more than 200 taxpayer-funded religious schools that actively discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression. Through civil rights litigation, documentary film, oral history, research and public policy, we work towards a world where LGBTQ students on all campuses are treated equally, with safety and respect.
Transmission Ministry Collective: An online community of transgender and gender-expansive Christians committed to growing faith, supporting each other, and healing the world.

Free Mom Hugs: A group of affirming parents and allies who love the LGBTQ+ community unconditionally. We are dedicated to educating families, church, and civic leaders encouraging them to not only affirm the LGBTQ+ community but to celebrate them.
Mama Bears: A network of groups, websites, special projects & resources dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering moms of LGBTQ kids and the LGBTQ Community.
Trans-Parenting: Trans-Parenting is an organization dedicated to providing support and educational resources to parents and their advocates (pediatricians, mental health professionals, lawyers, schools, friends, family, and churches) raising a gender-independent child.
LGBTQ and Faith: Activist and Advocacy Groups
GLAAD Religion, Faith & Values: GLAAD’s Religion, Faith, and Values program works to amplify the voices of LGBT-affirming communities of faith and LGBT people of faith. They train groups and individuals from a wide range of religions to share their stories locally and throughout mainstream media.
GLSEN: GLSEN works to ensure that LGBTQ students are able to learn and grow in a school environment free from bullying and harassment. Together we can transform our nation's schools into the safe and affirming environment all youth deserve.
Human Rights Campaign: The Human Rights Campaign’s Religion and Faith Program seeks to engage all faith traditions in a deeper dialogue on questions of fairness and equality for LGBT Americans.
The Matthew Shepard Foundation: The Matthew Shepard Foundation empowers individuals to embrace human dignity and diversity through outreach, advocacy and resource programs. We strive to replace hate with understanding, compassion and acceptance.
PFLAG: PFLAG is a national non-profit organization made up of parents, families, friends, and straight allies uniting with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people, PFLAG is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education and advocacy.
